Last week I posted what my aunt shared with her church group (with her permission :-)). This is part 2. You can read the first part here.

RELATED POST : Becoming a woman of noble character Part 1.

We are in Proverbs 31

10 [a]A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 ‘Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.’
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honour her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
  • 4. Cultivate Optimism by Surrendering everything to God.
  • Stay Positive. When it rains look for rainbows. When it is dark, look for stars.
  • Surrendering means – Lord everything you want me to do, I will do.
  • Putting God first and submitting to his rulership. This will make all the difference in our lives.
  • Why is it hard for us to say – I surrender everything to you? We want what we want and are afraid of what God might ask of us.
  • 1 Peter 5:6-7 (NIV) Therefore Humble yourselves, under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon HIM, for he cares for you.

5. Commit to your goals by working hard for the Lord:

  • Most people who fail from reaching their dream, fail not from lack of ability but from lack of commitment.
  • Ecclesiastes 9:10(NIV)- Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.
  • Ephesians 6: 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.
  • 6. Plant yourself so that you will bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit:
    • All of us are investing and planting something in our lives every single day.
    • We are reaping the benefit in the quality of our lives today is the result of something we planted and harvested in the past – both Good and bad.
    • Jesus said in John 15:5 that if we abide (remain/to stay/to dwell) in him, we will bear much fruit.
  • Nine Ways to produce a great crop of fruitfulness.
    1) Plant seeds of Love.
    1 John 4:7 Let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
    2) Plant seeds of Joy.
    Christ said in John 15: – These things I have spoken to you, that my Joy may remain in you and that your Joy will be full.
    3) Plant seeds of Peace.
    The peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
    4) Plant seeds of Patience.
    Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing. James 1:4.
    5) Plant seeds of Kindness.
    Colossians 3:12 : Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
    6) Plant seeds of Goodness.
    Every Good tree bears good fruit, and a bad tree bears bad fruit. A Good tree cannot bear bad fruit nor can a bad tree bear Good Fruit Mathew 7:17-18
    7) Plant seeds of Faithfulness.
    He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is also unjust in what is much…Luke 16:10
    8) Plant seeds of Gentleness.
    The bible says “a servant of the Lord must not quarrel, but be gentle to all.. 2 Timothy 2:24:
    9) Plant seeds of Self-Control
    2 Peter 1:5-6 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness.

    7. Nurture your relationships in both families:

    • The happiest people alive have deep meaningful relationships. Nurture them and watch them grow. You can start right now.

      Having somewhere to go is home, having someone to love is family, having both is blessing.

  • We all desperately need a sense of Family, of Relationship, of belonging. God created for us to be in families where you can be accepted, needed and appreciated.
  • In addition to biological families, our relationships with our church families is also crucial to our well-being.
  • It is very important to be yoked with people who walk closely with God.
  • The bible tells us in Proverbs 12:26 That the Righteous should choose their friends carefully, as the wicked will lead them astray.

Please don’t think this study or the previous one is to add burdens on you. It’s not. It’s to turn your eyes on to Jesus and let Him flow through you. Our cry, our desire is to honor Him and to make Him known through us.

In Him, until next time,

Vanessa.
